Karin Bryan is a professor in the School of Environment and the Institute of Marine Science at the University of Auckland. She studies estuarine and coastal dynamics, using a combination of numerical modelling, remote sensing and field based measurements. In the past 10 years, she has worked on bio-morphodynamics and the control of mangroves on estuarine evolution, sea level rise impacts on the coast, estuarine heat waves, river plume dynamics, remote sensing of coastal water quality, and shoreline evolution. She co-leads the TAIAO environmental data platform hosted at the University of Waikato.
