Mariane Couceiro Pullig
University of Auckland
Supervisors: Karin Bryan and Giovanni Coco
Mariane’s research addresses the large-scale effects of climatic impacts on coastal sediment budget. Different scenarios of changing approaching waves and Sea Level Rise are simulated In order to estimate the coastal adaptation. The model framework needs to account for sandy and rocky sections of the coast and incorporate sediment delivered by the rivers is important. The model will be applied to the New Zealand coast “Bay of Plenty”, a complex coastal section.
Mariane completed her masters in Oceanography/Coastal Oceanography Laboratory, at the University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Her thesis addressed the bypassing process at a headland-controlled large-scale mixed energy tidal inlet.
