Matthew is an environmental modeller and data specialist with a strong focus on leveraging datasets to support adaptive planning. Currently pursuing a PhD at Victoria University of Wellington, his research explores the landscape of existing datasets that could inform the development of a nationally relevant dynamic adaptive plan. Such a plan has the potential to uncover trade-offs between regional adaptation priorities and foster deeper central government engagement with—and investment in—local adaptive planning efforts. His work also aims to establish a foundational process for communities to effectively harness available data in crafting their own dynamic adaptive plans.
