Earth Sciences New Zealand

Saskia de Vilder is an Engineering Geologist at ESNZ, with a strong focus on landslide processes and slope stability. As part of her work, she brings specialist expertise in understanding the causes, behaviour, and risks associated with landslides across a range of environments.

Within the Our Changing Coast (OCC) programme, Saskia contributes to research investigating coastal landslides and cliff instability. Her work helps improve understanding of how coastal systems respond to environmental change, including the combined effects of erosion, weather events, and long-term climate pressures. Through this, she supports efforts to better assess risks and inform management strategies for vulnerable coastal areas.
