Following Adaptation Futures 2025 conference a workshop was hosted by Our Changing Coast. The objective was knowledge sharing on managed retreat for SLR and enablers for accelerating appropriate, equitable and effective adaptation solutions for sea-level rise in coastal cities and settlements that are inclusive, and not maladaptive.
Presentations were made by a range of experts over the day followed by discussions including on the topics of:
- Experiential learning about changing and accelerating risk through games, DAPP, economic assessment tools.
- Practical applications a discussion with participants sharing global examples relevant to managed retreat and identifying issues for implementing managed retreat.
- What does an actionable framework for managed retreat and relocation look like?
